I was recently given the opportunity to donate photography to some of the families with children admitted in Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. This was such a huge blessing to be able to do something nice for these families. My heart goes out to them all.
This sweet little girl was born near Christmas last year and I just realized I never posted her story. When I heard she was going to be born between Christmas and New Year’s I was a little worried about the timing and making sure I’d be in town for her newborn photos, but it was worth it! Isn’t she beautiful?! Frilly pink tutu compliments of the new mother and grandmothers : )
Mom and dad were both so proud!!
And of course I have a soft spot for dads holding newborns. Gets me every time.
This family was a blast to photograph. After about 2 seconds of warming up to me, they were off! Jumping, laughing and playing. I love how strongly their different personalities come through. What a blast!
The day Brandy and I picked for their family photo session was going to be perfect. The forecast looked good, the sky was beautiful, the location perfect. Then the temperature plummeted. It’s really tough to get a baby to smile when he’s freezing! So, after the first few shots, we called it a day and rescheduled for another time. Shots from both days capture what a fun family this is and I can’t wait to meet them for some tasty fajitas soon!
Anna is the sister of one of my best friends. When she called me to do her newborn photos, I was ecstatic! I’d already met the rest of her family and couldn’t wait to meet her, Matt and the new baby. We had a tiny window of opportunity before Anna’s dad and husband both had to return to work, but we were able to find a day between Christmas and New Year’s when everyone was stateside. Perfect! (And I love that we were able to work Matt’s flight suit into one of the shots!!)
My good friend and fellow photographer Jessica Raney asked me to second shoot a wedding for her in South Carolina last weekend. The bride and groom were super nice and the wedding was beautiful. After a week of worry with snow and ice trapping everyone inside, the wedding went off perfectly! The wedding was held in a century old Catholic Church and reception followed in a cool barn just a few minutes away.
Justin decided to propose to Jenny on the same spot they had their first kiss. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. The trees had begun to turn and the weather was perfect in Piedmont Park. She was so surprised by the proposal and both are excited to plan the wedding. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day.
