This family was a blast to photograph. After about 2 seconds of warming up to me, they were off! Jumping, laughing and playing. I love how strongly their different personalities come through. What a blast!
The day Brandy and I picked for their family photo session was going to be perfect. The forecast looked good, the sky was beautiful, the location perfect. Then the temperature plummeted. It’s really tough to get a baby to smile when he’s freezing! So, after the first few shots, we called it a day and rescheduled for another time. Shots from both days capture what a fun family this is and I can’t wait to meet them for some tasty fajitas soon!
While they took a minute to warm up to me, Alex and Parker were a blast to shoot. They are all boy, too. They spent the entire time running, collecting dead leaves, and gathering sticks. Oh, and the shot of the two of them together quickly became a wrestling match! Here are a couple of my favorites:
I am so lucky to still have both of my grandmothers. Recently the family gathered outside of Chicago to celebrate my grandmother’s 80th birthday. It was so nice to see all of my aunts, uncles and cousins. We had such an amazing time! We enjoyed lots of great food and great company.
My grandmother is not a fan of getting her picture taken. I’m glad she humored me. Her birthday cake was SO good. I think everyone added a couple of pounds over the weekend.
Apparently one cake was not enough. Here’s a sampling of some of the sweets. Dinner was of course followed by a nap.
My cousins. Apparently reading and drawing run in the family.
See, it wasn’t only cake!
I had a great time doing the mini-portrait session with Eric and Shannon and the kiddos this past weekend. I’ll never stop being amazed at how much energy kids have. Kristin is destined to become a super gymnast and Gavin’s got the energy to do anything he wants! What a great family.
This ball of energy hardly stopped moving the entire shoot!
This shot only took minor bribery….I think ice cream was mentioned.
After circling the field multiple times exhaustion finally takes over…
Followed quickly by a second wind.
Finally, two of the nicest people you could hope to call friends. Thanks, Eric and Shannon for asking me to do your family portraits. You guys are wonderful parents and a great couple!
Some friends and I decided to take advantage of the wonderful fall weather to do some playful portraits. Here are some of my favorites from the day.
